There's only one thing that comes close to the sheer exhilaration felt when hearing Keith Richards at his finest playing a guitar fretboard - and that's hearing him talk! And although the great man's debut solo-album was entitled Talk Is Cheap, that's only correct when Keef's not doing the talking - otherwise it's worth its weight in gold.

Never less than splendidly entertaining, 'the human riff' can ramble on for hours and those under his omnipotent spell will sit attentively and take in every word. In fact, if all Mr Richards could do well was play the guitar and write songs - despite being among the best in the world at both pursuits - admit it, we wouldn't love him half so much.
