Detective Mackenzie Bennett loves Christmas more than anyone except her mother, who's also a police captain and Mackenzie's boss. In her work life, Mack is smart, tough, and an excellent detective. In her home life, she thinks that cargo pants and heavy black safety shoes are just fine for a date. She knows that the right guy will be able to see past that. Meeting him will be magical and serendipitous, and it won't matter what she's wearing. When she meets Carson Mills, he's handsome, chivalrous, and loves Christmas too. But when the FBI comes to town, asking for her precinct's help with a diamond theft case, Carson is their lead suspect. When the FBI and the Captain send Mack in to investigate him up close, their meeting might not be serendipity.
